Days Seven and Eight 3/16 &17

8 a.m. day seven: i worked last night, and i am really tired. i had my usual 4 juices and lots of water. my activity level was up and i felt like i would lose weight for sure, but when i stepped on the scale i was +.2 lbs. weird. i work again today, so i will bring my juice with me and hope for the best. i’m feeling very hungry and tired. probably in part because i’m working and in part because my body is definitely not used to such calorie restriction. i’m going to see how today goes, and how i feel at the end of the day.

9 p.m. day seven: i made it through the day on juice and water and tea. i have decided though, that my fast will not last thirty days. i will continue to juice, add a smoothie and a salad to my day, and eat a healthy vegan dinner. i will continue to avoid white sugar and flour. i will hopefully continue to lose a few more pounds. while i think juice fasting is a good thing, and i feel good about going seven days on juice, i think that that is long enough for me at this time. i will fast in the future for sure, and continue to monitor my eating habits and weight.

11 a.m. day eight: my daughter fell asleep at 5 p.m. on the way home last night after i picked her up when i got out of work. she was impossible to wake up, so i just put her to bed and prayed she would sleep through. she ended up waking up at 1:30 a.m. in desperate need of a banana (she did miss dinner) so we headed downstairs to get her a snack. we ended up staying up until 4 a.m. when she was finally ready to go back to bed. she woke again at 7:45 a.m. and andy came to get her so i could stay in bed. when i finally opened my eyes and looked at my watch, it was 10:30 a.m., i realized i had better get up so i didn’t waste andy’s only day off, sleeping.

when i got on the scale it was the same as yesterday 127.4. hmmmm. that seems impossible to me. i had a juice for breakfast, and then we got ready to go out and run errands. we went to the grocery store and loaded up on produce, rice and beans, and things to make easy, healthy and delicious vegan dinners with. when we got home it was 2 o’clock and every one was hungry for lunch. i cut up a pineapple, and that is what my first bite of food in 8 days was. it was pretty dang good. ;) so this fast is broken. i’m going to keep checking in and continue to keep track of my progress, and i will keep you all posted. all in all i feel pretty good about it. 8 pounds in 8 days. clearing some of the toxins out of my body and re-setting my taste buds.

  1. 8 in 8 is pretty dang good. I’m still working on the motivation. I really need the detox, though, so I’ll definitely be doing it. Good Job. It’s not easy when you’re sleep deprived!
